Marilyn Skiles, age 65, of Bloomington died from living on Wednesday morning, September 23, 2020 at the I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospice House. Marilyn and her twin sister, Carilyn, were born July 5, 1955 in Evansville, Indiana to Geneva (Gunn) and Herbert McReynolds, the second of three sets of twins. Marilyn and Carilyn were adopted after the death of their mother by Grace and George Higdon. Happiest times were in the summers at grandmother’s Lucy Goodwin, of Cerulean, Kentucky and fun times with grandmother, Lucy McCandless in Evansville. When you have a twin you always have a best friend. Marilyn enjoyed music, singing, playing flute and piano, a love of dancing, especially tap dancing…retired tap shoes a few years ago. Marilyn worked 25 years in health care, owned and showed ’65 and ’66 Mustangs, owned Rule 62 Game Room, bought and sold antiques and collectibles many years and was a member of the 12-24 Club. She greatly loved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her biological and adoptive parents, grandparents, half-brother, Harry Hales, brothers, Ronnie, Larry and Jack, husband, C. Mike Lawson, grandson, Trevor L. Davis, husband, F.E. “Fritz” Boehne and daughter, Roberta Lawson Combs. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Mike Skiles and his children, Jennifer and Jake, twin sister, Carilyn Dillman and her husband, Bob, sisters, Jackie Ruchti (Jacob) and Phyllis DeRousse, brother, Donnie Riggs (Sandy), granddaughter, Haley R. Davis, grandsons, Mike R. Davis, U.S.M.C. and Dustin Combs, great-granddaughter, Emma Sue Davis, nieces, Virshawn Champion Love (husband – Tyrone), Camille Champion Purtlebaugh, Tiffany Nicholson and nephew, Ryan Nicholson. A memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary; Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike with Rev. Wendy VanderZee officiating.
