

Medford William Parsons, 86 of Bloomington died Tuesday evening, August 25, 2015 in his home. He was born January 3, 1929 in Martin County to James William Parsons and Carrie Maggie Mauder Parsons. He was retired from RCA.
Survivors include two sons, James Parsons and his wife Becky of Spencer and Mike Parsons and his wife Tina of Nashville, TN; a daughter, Sherry Marlene and her husband Keith Abrams of Bloomington; a very close friend, Ruth Ann Crandall of Bloomington; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ethel Frye; a brother, Walter Parsons; and a brother who died in infancy.
Medford served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he also enjoyed playing softball and spending winters in Florida after retiring from RCA.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W Gourley Pike. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Monroe County Honor Guard.
