

Ola Burnetta Todd Jones “Ola B.”, age 95, passed away Tuesday morning holding her granddaughter’s hand, at Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville.She was the daughter of James Todd and Ossa Bertran (Tranny) Bartlett Todd of Heltonville. She was born on August 16, 1917 in Bartlettsville, Indiana.Ola married Boyd Kenton Jones in 1936, who was a decorated member of the U.S. Navy and served proudly on the Indiana University Police Department.Ola had worked at RCA and was an active volunteer with several charitable interests including Bloomington Hospital Auxiliary “Pink Ladies”, Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, Meals on Wheels and the Opportunity House. She was an avid I.U. basketball fan.Ola is survived by her daughter Nina Ruth Jones Steele, son-in-law Dr. Larry Steele; granddaughters Theresa Steele of Ellettsville, Amber Steele of Atlanta, Georgia and Heather Steele of Bloomington; sisters Margaret Sparks of Ellettsville and Shirley Ann Bouher of Smithville; two sisters-in-law Velma Bodenhammer Todd of Meridian, Mississippi and Betty Blackwell Todd of Seymour; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, and two brothers: Opal and Mack Todd both of Heltonville, sister Roberta Todd Boyd; three brothers-in-law Joe Boyd, Marvin Sparks and Robert R. Bouher: niece and nephew Doanne Todd Turner and Carl E. Rumple.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Vista Care Hospice or the American Diabetes Association.Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 1 -2 p.m. with the funeral service at 2:00p.m. in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene &Harrell Chapel, 700 W.
