Will miss Bob Ayers, my longtime friend and co-worker at the Herald-Times. My fondest memories of him was as our pitcher for the Herald Angels, our company softball team that won 5 city titles in 6 years in the late 1980s. He already was in his 50s then but was an amazing athlete. He played on a Bloomington High basketball team that came within a buzzer beater of going to state in 1949. Just a good, all-around guy.

Bob, I'll always remember the fun times with you and Becky every summer while growing up and always being so excited to come see you all. We had so many good times, I'll always cherish those times. May you now rest in peace with Becky, Scotty, my Mom and Dad and so many others. I will miss you and love you always.
