Teddy Bird Summitt

Teddy Bird Summitt, 79, of Bedford passed away Thursday June 24, 2010 at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford. He was born on October 4, 1930 to the late Calvin M. and Katherine Jenny (Harding) Summitt in Bloomington. He retired from the Elliott Stone Company in Bedford after 42 years service. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He loved to camp and skate.

He is survived by his wife: Julie (Felton) Summitt of Bedford, 4 Daughters; Nancy Phillips of Mitchell, Theresa Christy of Ellettsville, Betty Faye Godsey of Bloomington and Robin Lee Wampler of Greene County; 5 Sons: Jerry Bird Summitt of Utah, Terry Dale Summitt of Bloomington, Robert Matthew Summitt of Greene Co., Kenny Ray Summitt of Greene Co. and Teddy Bird Summitt Jr. of Bloomington; 2 Step Daughters: Marcia Dawn North of Greene Co. and Yvonne DeCarla Bright of Springfield, Ohio and 1 Step Son; John Brady Porter of Georgia. Also Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. also by special friends: Brian & Cindy & Judy Elliott of Bedford, and his dog Binky.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a Daughter: Vicki Ann Littlejohn.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Sunday June 27th at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel also 1 hour prior to the service on Monday the 28th. The service will be 10:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Home with burial following at Chambersville Cemetery in Owen County.
