Thomas Herman Messmacher

Thomas Herman Messmacher, 66, of Bloomington died Monday, June 25, 2018 in his home. He was born January 21, 1952 in Frankfort, Germany to Henry Messmacher and Eva Hildebrant Messmacher. He was retired from General Electric after 38 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Kathy Christy Messmacher of Bloomington; a daughter, Heather Messmacher of Ellettsville; a sister, Evelyn (husband Tom) Alwine of Bloomington, a brother, Kent (wife Michelle) Messmacher of Bloomington; three step children, Steven Smith, Joseph Smith and Kassaundra Smith, all of Bloomington; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son who was stillborn, Christopher Messmacher. Thomas was a graduate of Bloomington High School, he enjoyed photography, had been a member of the Sierra Club and was a very hard and dedicated worker, often working 2 jobs, including delivering newspapers for many years. There will be a Memorial Service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel.
