Vera Mae Mobley
February 12, 1937 – June 28, 2021
Vera Mae Mobley, age 84, of Bloomington passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 at her son’s residence in Bloomington. Born February 12, 1937 in Evansville, Indiana, she was the daughter of John Anslem and Vera Theresa (Durbin) Snyder. Vera retired in 1996 from Westinghouse/ABB in Bloomington. She loved to travel, make porcelain dolls as well as singing and dancing. She was a 52 yr. member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
Vera is survived by five daughters, Ellen (Donald) Harris, of Bloomington, Marie (Delbert) Allgood, of Spencer, Marilyn (Steve) Hopkins, of Bloomington, Karen (Bill) Campbell, of Solsberry, and Melissa (Mike) Pope, of Solsberry; six sons, Lester E. “Pete” (Rebecca) Mobley, of Spencer, Jim (Terri) Mobley, of Spencer, John Mobley, of Spencer, Ed (Beth) Mobley, of Bloomington, Joe Mobley, of Spencer and Jesse Mobley, of Bloomington, forty-six grandchildren and sixty-one great-grandchildren.
Vera was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester Mobley, Jr. in 2001, twelve siblings, one grandson, Jimmy Fishel, one great-grandson, Karson Browning, one great-granddaughter, Olivia Hartman and one son-in-law, Larry M. Sims.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike.
