

Wilma J. Conder, age 93, of Bloomington, died Wednesday afternoon at Garden Villa. Born April 11, 1920 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Orris and Josie (Riggs) Taylor. She retired from R.C.A. and also was a homemaker where she enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, cooking and baking, especially her pies made from rhubarb as well as her peanut butter fudge and mayonnaise cake with peanut butter frosting. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles. She was baptized as a child at the Garrison Chapel Methodist Church where she later served in the Ladies Aid Society and had attended the Bloomington Free Methodist Church as well as St. Paul United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Conder, whom she married on August 6, 1950, her two daughters and son-in-law, Diana Hall and Marcia and Ronnie Pursell, of Bloomington; her three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sheryl Conder, of Bloomington, Tom and Penny Conder, of Ocala, Florida and Bruce and Lana Conder, of Bloomington; two brothers and sister-in-law, Paul Taylor, of Bloomington and Kenneth and Mary Taylor, of Englewood, Florida, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Heather Michelle Hall, one step-grandson, Ronnie Sherman Pursell, one great-grandson, Tucker Jackson Sims and six brothers.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel with Pastor Adam Conder officiating. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the charity of one’s choice.
