I miss you,father....there's so much I wanna say to you, that I didn't  say while you were here.I know I was more than a handful (,growing up).I didn't  understand a lot of what I was seeing and what I was feeling..police dogs and marches...people not liking me just because of my skin...I was your only son and I needed answers that there was  no answer to,so I did like alot of young black boys did..I rebelled.I rebelled against society,I rebelled against authority,I rebelled against God and I rebelled against you.I remember as a young  boy pretending to be a man how I fussed and cussed and just wanted to hit something or someone (and many times I did). It took much time for me to grow into the man that I've finally become(and I think you would be pleased).So many lessons you taught me ,though it may have taken a bit longer for me to realize while others seem to catch on easily,but I did eventually get it. I wish I could hear your voice just once more,even if it was to yell at me,I'd gladly take it..you denied me nothing, though you would sometimes make me wait,you always eventually gave me what I asked for.I'm rambling now so I just want to say,I love you,my father..if I can be half the man you were then I can say,we've won!!! Don't  worry about our family..I'll find a way to bring everyone together,(we'll be fine).Everything you did I know you did it from your heart and did what you thought was for the best(even though you knew others may not agree) you did what was right...and that is the kind of man I strive to be..make the tough decisions and stand by them!!!well,I better go for now.I know,I know..I can hear you now!!"Son,if you want to see me then just look in the mirror...if you want to hear my voice,just say something...I'm always there with you!!!"
