Boca Raton - Adele Marie Barrett, 92 died on April 30, 2021. Adele Marie was the daughter of the late James S. Barrett and Winifred P. Barrett, sister of Joan McCarthy O'Connell, Rev. Philip A. Barrett and James T. Barrett. Survived by her niece Wynn McCarthy (Naples, FL) Great-Aunt of Jennifer Coslet (Millington, NJ) and David Rubey (Warren, NJ) Grandaunt of James, Grace, Adele, and Thomas Coslet. Her niece and namesake Adele Marie McCarthy Rubey died in 2018.
Adele was involved in numerous civic and religious activities in her 48 years in Boca Raton, especially the national Society of Arts and Letters and St Joan of Arc Parish. Prior to moving full time to Florida Adele managed the office of the family floral business, in Troy, NY with her parents and brother, Jim. The business Barrett the Florist was founded in 1900 by her grandparents James G and Della Murray Barrett.
Arrangements will be private due to Covid restrictions and a Mass of celebration will be held at St Vincent de Paul Church in Sterling, NJ. She will buried in the family plot at St Mary's cemetery Troy, NY at a later date.
