Strong - That’s who my Abuelo is. Was.

Playing chess - My Abuelo always challenged me to think harder, looking ahead.

Counting on each other - When I was little, I relied on him to push me. Then he asked me to push him.

Unstoppable - His work ethic was hard-core. He never slept.

Patient - Explaining, playing, talking, being.

Successful - President of shipping companies; he knew the business of cargo ships.

Family - He wanted everyone to enjoy life. Beach. Food. Family.

STOP

Now, he’s stepped through Death’s door. He wanted to go home, see Jesus, see family, finally rest.
I’m struggling. How can someone who’s been there always just…
not?
He is with me, I know, I feel,
I pray.
