

Andrew passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Boca Raton, Florida on July 1, 2024. He was the son of the late Geraldus Gay and Mary Sue (Speer) Gay of DeKalb, Mississippi. He is survived by his children, Susan Coles, of Easton, PA, Jennifer Gay (and husband, Rick Hallinen), of Winter Garden, FL, Andrew G. Gay, Jr. (and wife, Dawn Blanco), of Philadelphia, PA, and Dean Gay of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his precious son, James.
Andrew was a proud attorney and enjoyed his legal career for 45 years. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on April 5, 1936, and attended Virginia Tech University (Class of 1958). He later moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple Law School (Class of 1963). He opened his own law firm in 1963 and was the Founding Partner of Gay, Chacker and Mitten in Philadelphia from 1973 until 2008.
Andrew always enjoyed a fine dinner out, fast cars and Hawaiian shirts. Upon retiring, he moved to his dream condo on Lake Boca, and enjoyed many sunrises and sunsets from his porch.
He lived by the phrase “Have everything you need, and nothing that you don’t”.
