Anita was the third child of John and Tommasina (Mazie) Tutone. Nina was her sister and John Jr. her brother. She attended Nativity BVM School in Ozone Park, NY, then high school at Dominican Commercial in Jamaica, NY. She met her best friend Bernadette Miele on the bus going to school.
After graduating, Anita went to work in Manhattan and met Nicholas Giardina, who was a neighbor recently returned from World War II. Nick and Anita married in 1950 and had 4 children, Katherine (m. Thomas), Anita (m. Daniel), Tomasina (m. Peter) and Joseph (M. Isabella).
She remarried in the 1970's and moved to Florida. She was active in her community (Boynton Beach) and in the Catholic Church. She loved the beach and liked to swim. She was an avid reader and bingo player.
She had 3 grandsons, Jerry, Anthony and PC and 3 great grandchildren.
