With great sadness, we announce that Barbara Warner Robert, 79, of Coconut Creek, Florida, peacefully passed away, surrounded by love, on February 16, 2019. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She was born October 3, 1939, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She grew up in Ridgefield, CT enjoying dance, where she was hailed as the lead dancer, and playing third base on her softball team.
On August 18, 1962, Barbara married the love of her life, Donald G. Robert. They celebrated their marriage and Don’s college graduation with a six-week trip to Europe. Barbara and Don raised a beautiful family, first in Massachusetts, then in Vernon and New Milford, CT, at Canterbury Prep School. In addition to cheering for and supporting her husband and children in football, hockey, wrestling, baseball, and lacrosse, Barbara was caregiver to her younger brother, Jimmy. Of all her life’s endeavors and joys, Barbara was most proud of her children and their accomplishments.
In the summer of 1984, the family moved to Florida where Barbara was an avid bingo player and loved spending all of her time with her beloved family—especially her cherished granddaughters, Olivia and Juliet—and friends, and was considered “Mom” to countless others. Barbara worked as the office manager at the Sun Sentinel Gold Coast shopper, and later served as office manager for Miss Fran’s Early Learning Center. “Mom” was preceded in death by her loving parents, Frank and Grace Warner; and her dear brothers, Jimmy and Will Warner. She is survived by her beloved husband, Don; her adoring children, Donny, Frannie, and Steve; her precious granddaughters, Olivia and Juliet; treasured nieces and nephews; and endless extended family.
The Robert Family is overwhelmed and so grateful for the enormous outpouring of love and support. Barbara’s funeral arrangements will be: visitation on February 21, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL.
