

Catherine Dorothy O’Leary entered eternal rest in the loving arms of Jesus on July 01, 2025, in Englewood, Florida. She was born July 21, 1933, in Brooklyn (Red Hook), New York, a daughter of the late Alex and Mary Christie.
Catherine (Tootsie, affectionately) was generous with her time, talent, and treasure. She was a compassionate caregiver to family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love. All were welcomed into her home. Being a fabulous cook with a gift for hospitality, she enjoyed hosting many wonderful dinners and game nights, creating fond memories for everyone. While residing in Boca Raton, Florida for close to 25 years, Catherine was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she volunteered and participated in many of their varied activities.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Daniel O’Leary; and three siblings, Kenneth Christie, Mary Ellen Christie, and David Christie.
Catherine is survived by two sons, David O’Leary, and Michael O’Leary (Jane); one daughter, Mary Matthews (Robert); five grandchildren, Kyle O’Leary (Lindsay), Jessica Matthews (James Whited, fiancée), Daniel O’Leary, Juliana Harel-Canada (Anthony), and Kevin O’Leary; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Josephine, and Timothy Harel-Canada; and one sister, Ann Lane. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members who will sadly miss her.
Visitation is from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Babione Funeral Home, 10060 Calle Comercio Drive, Boca Raton, Florida.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10300 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Florida. Burial will follow in the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida, at 1:30 p.m.
