Charles “Chuck” Nolan, affectionately known as “Papa,” passed away on October 25, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, cherished memories, and a legacy that will live on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
Chuck was born in Detroit Michigan to Barbara and Charles Nolan. He is the oldest of 8 siblings. He attended St Francis high school in Toledo, Ohio where he received a full ride scholarahip to Kent State University for football and academics.
He attended Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, where he played college football and earned his bachelor’s degree in business. During his college years, he married Nancy Ann Konecki, and together they raised three sons, Matt, Paul, and Tim.
Chuck devoted 30 years of his professional life to Ciba Vision, where he served as a dedicated Key Accounts Manager. He was known for his strong work ethic, his ability to connect with people, and the genuine relationships he built throughout his career.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, coach, and friend. He loved playing tennis and cards, listening to live music, watching football, and coaching his sons in sports. Above all else, he loved being a dad and a grandfather. His three sons and eleven grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy.
Chuck had a personality that was impossible to forget. With his piercing blue eyes, warm smile, and gregarious spirit, he had a remarkable way of making everyone around him feel welcome. He was truly the life of the party. Whether he was sharing a kind word, delivering a witty remark, or telling his latest joke, Chuck had a gift for bringing laughter and happiness to those around him.
Beneath that larger-than-life personality was a man of extraordinary patience, wisdom, and kindness. Chuck was laid-back, slow to anger, and always willing to listen. He had a way of making life’s challenges seem a little smaller and its joys a little greater.
Perhaps his greatest legacy can be found in the simple words he lived by and passed along to his sons:
“Do what’s right. Treat others the way you want to be treated. And try your best.”
Those words were more than just advice. They were the principles by which Chuck lived his life.
Chuck is survived by his three sons, Matt, Paul, and Tim Nolan, and his eleven beloved grandchildren.
Rest in peace, Papa. We love you.
ALL are welcome to join us in celebrating his life!
