Cynthia Ann Gribben

She was born in the Bronx, New York on August 15th, 1947 to Anna and Frank Abbatine. Cindy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. At 20 years old she met her husband, Sam Gribben, when they were both working at Fritzsche Brothers in New York City. The pair instantly clicked and eventually married. Their love was unwavering and the couple were married for over 55 years. Sam was a devoted husband and stayed by Cindy’s side, offering her support and endless affection throughout their time together. They loved to travel all over the world and some of their favorite vacations included trips to the South Pacific, Asia, South America, Egypt and Europe.

Cindy’s greatest pleasure in life was her family, whom she cherished profoundly. She loved hosting large family celebrations and holidays, and baked hundreds of Christmas cookies every year. Traditions were important to her. She loved family game nights when the kids were young and continued on with late night game nights with friends until her death. In her free time, she loved to plan trips, especially cruises, was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the sunset on the beach. She loved anything with sparkles and glitter, and enjoyed connecting with family and friends on social media.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Gribben, daughter, Samantha (Cliff) Vassallo, and her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas and Katie Vassallo. She is preceded in death by her son, Andrew Gribben, sister, Mary Anne Parrish and brother, Anthony Abbatantono.

Though her soul has departed into Heaven, she will be with us in Spirit and the love and laughter she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her will live on.

A wake will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Babione – Kraeer Funeral Home at 1100 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432. Her Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 10:30AM at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3510 S Ocean Blvd., Highland Beach, FL 33487.
