
He was born in Covington, Kentucky on August 4, 1933. He joined the U.S. Air Force after High School, serving as a diesel engine mechanic in Alaska during the Korean War. In 1956 he met Berniece Francis and they were married in October of that year. In 1959 he completed his engineering degree at General Motors Institute. As his career flourished, he earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.
He is survived by his long-time partner Carole Rich. He also leaves behind his daughters, Bonnie Collins and Susan Neuhaus, their husbands, Daniel and David, two granddaughters, Sophie Neustadt and Valerie Neuhaus-White, two step grandchildren, Nick and Sami Lewin, and one great grand-daughter, Riley Neustadt, age 8 months. He was preceded in death by his wife Berniece Wilder, and brothers John Wilder, Jr., Charles Wilder, and James Wilder. He was laid to rest with military honors in Salisbury National Cemetery in North Carolina.
