My father passed away July 23 at 5:00 AM after losing his fight to Severe Covid-19. We never expected this. We did everything known to try to save him, we gave him positive antibody blood, remdesivir & other excellent medical care. This virus hit my dad hard.

Dad was 85 going on 60 and in very good health. My dad came to work every day to help out in the daily operations of the business. My Dad did all the professional reporting to our clients and did an excellent & meticulous job, Dad didn't need spell check on his computer and we settled many cases. I'm proud to say that he taught me how to do it right, he was a great teacher to my 2 sons Brian & Michael who are also in the business. We always discussed business, he loved to come to work to discuss business and how to handle it. If he didn't come to work then he was home helping my mother, taking her to the doctor, shopping and helping her in every way, loving and caring. My Dad loved his family and would do anything for them. My dad and I were extremely close, which most of you know. People use to think that we were brothers. I spoke to him at least twice a day, every day and always asked for his advice.

My Dad was a great man, a very kind man, a teacher to all, a problem solver, a businessman, a gift giver, a great sense of humor, he loved old classic cars and old hollow body Gibson Guitars, he always said the older they get the better they play, and let’s not forget that he loved Facebook and wasn't afraid to voice his opinion. Dad was a great husband, a loving grandfather, and a loving great grandfather to 5 and 1 on the way that he will never see. Dad always answered his phone when we called. My dad loved playing guitar and has collected many over the last 50 years. My dad loved Baseball and in his earlier years was a coach in Hollywood with his other brother Joe Rega. He never missed a baseball game with his grandson Steven Rega’s & Brian & Michael Rega's team. Growing up in N.J. my dad worked very hard to support his family, he work in the insurance business and at night played his guitar in restaurants and sometimes drove a delivery truck. We moved here in 1967 where he continued to work in the insurance business and also in the car business, things were way different in Hollywood FL back then. My Dad always supported his family.

I can say that I learned a lot from my dad every day. I'm glad that WE celebrated every Father's Day, Christmas Day, always his birthday (Dec 21 will be a hard one without him) company parties and many other events. My heart is broken and the entire Rega Family is devastated over this unexpected death of my father. I'm glad that I did spend 64 years and 5 months with him. I'm glad we told each other "I Love You" seconds before they put him on the vent. I'm glad he was my dad for over 64 Years I'm going to miss my dad more & more every day. I love You Dad & I miss you already.

I was googling some corporate information and ended up on Edward's page (I realized post haste totally unrelated).
I stayed and read about Mr. Rega because what lept off the page is so BEAUTIFUL & LOVING! The love he has for his family and his family for him translates through (the words and pictures).

My heart is with you all and many prayers of healing.

Judy and I would like to extend our sincere condolences and sympathy to the Rega family.

I have known Ed for almost 50 years and I consider him a very close friend. Ed and Barbara welcomed Judy and I into their home and their lives like we were family. In 2003 when I had my heart surgery, Ed was their every day to see how I was doing and if there was anything that he could do to help. During my recent cancer surgery, Ed and Barbara were there to see me and offer help. I will never forget Ed and his friendship and thoughtfulness.

Ed will always be cherished for the man that he was.

God bless, and may Ed rest in peace.

We first met Joe when we had a fire at the Fiberbuilt Umbrellas factory. His son Jerry is a very important customer, and since the fire-affected his business also, he sent his dad in for help. He was such a tremendous help to us then, that he just became friends with our entire executive team. Fiberbuilt sends our deepest sympathy for the Rega family. You are in our prayers.

Dear Rega family, we had the pleasure of meeting Ed when our daughter met and then married Michael. He was the quintessential grandpa who always had a smile on his face and his arms wide open to greet his grandchildren and great grands whenever we would see him. We hope all the happy memories you shared with your Dad, your grandpa will lessen the heartache you are feeling. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. God bless.

Eddie was an extremely nice, patient, and kind man. His son, Jerry and I got married in 1995. He welcomed me into the family with loving arms and made me feel part of the family right away. Since we lived in Houston, Las Vegas and now Coeur D’Alene, ID, we didn’t get to see as much of them as we would have liked.
My first Thanksgiving with the Rega’s they made a traditional turkey menu and an Italian menu and boy could he cook some Italian. I totally loved it! Some times he would sit up with me watching TV after Barbara and Jerry had long gone to bed. Those are some cherished times.
Eddie’s passing leaves a huge hole in the families heart. I still have loving memories, which will stay with me forever.

Love, Myra

Edward Rega was an awesome Dynamic man . When I was introduced to him by his son and longtime friend , Ed Rega (Jr) I felt so comfortable as though I had known him my entire life. I am a professional Guitar player and we talked and played guitars for hours ! I even played at one of his birthday parties at an Italian restaurant some years back . He let me play one of his beautiful Gibson Jazz guitars (worth thousands of dollars) . I can’t say enough about this fine human being . Mr Rega will always be in my heart .

My father was the kindest man ever. He and my uncle Joe coached baseball together from the early 70s where I was a member of their team. My dad never missing a football game I played in from about 1970. He loved to singer and play one of his Gibson guitars. I remember in the 80s and the 90s he would come out to Houston and spend time with me at my furniture manufacturing plant going over manufacturing issues and helping me resolve them with his wisdom. He was extremly smart in problem solving. In 1995 Myra and I got married in North Carolina where he was the star of the wedding singing many of the Frank Sinatra songs. He sounded exactly like Frank Sinatra. I remember all the vacations we spent together with my mother and my wife Myra in Coeur d'Alene Idaho, Reno, Vegas, Boston, San Deigo, Phoenix, Galveston and so on. We always spoke at least once a week. He will be missed and left us 10 years too early.
