

Edwin Willits Hubbard III was born to Alma Barbara and Edwin Willits Hubbard on November 6, 1936 in Detroit, MI. He passed away in Lake Worth, FL on Saturday, August 19, 2017. After spending his early years in Michigan, Ed proudly served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper with the 101st and 173rd Airborne Divisions during the Korean War. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1965 from Michigan State University. Ed has worked for Packaging Corporation of America, Setterstix, the originator of the paper lollipop stick, and also owned E. Hubbard’s Ice Cream and Sweet Shop in East Aurora, NY.
Over his life time, Ed created a legacy of kindness and support for lost, injured and unwanted pets, especially dogs. Most recently, Ed was active with Tri-County (No Kill) Animal Rescue, Boca Raton, FL, and was available for pet rescue 24/7/365. Ed also enjoyed reading Civil War history, and especially enjoyed spending time with and caring for his beloved animals.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Barbara Hubbard Bowman (Christopher), Scottsdale, AZ, his sister, Virginia Hubbard Gadebusch (Hans), Langhorne, PA, his grandchildren Dylan and Isabella, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed is preceded in death by brothers Robert Black and Edwin ’Dottie’ Hubbard II.
A Memorial Service will be held at Babione Funeral Home (West Location), 10060 Calle Comercio Drive Boca Raton, FL 33428 at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
