Elizabeth was the sweetest, most loving person I have ever met.  Her voice was so soft and lyrical. and she had such a sweet laugh. You could not help but laugh with her. I was always amazed at the stories she told of her life.  She was truly an independent woman before her time.  I truly love the phone chats in the recent years and before that there was e-mails.  Elizabeth always made me feel special, loved and welcomed in her home.  She was always interested in my life.  
As a child growing up I always looked forward to the Christmas letter and photo.  My mother and I would compare them to the previous year to see the changes of the family.  

Elizabeth and my mother worked together in the early years.  She helped my mother gain confidence in herself. My mom was only 15 when they met.  Elizabeth sang at my parents wedding and each anniversary she would call and sing  Ava Maria to them on the phone. 

I will miss her and my heart aches but to live for 102 years is miraculous and she lived it to the fullest. Now she is free of any limitations to enjoy life in heaven with her family and friends.

Some memories:
Eating at the table, looking out at the flowers, and chatting with Grandma. 

The drawer with Entenmann's coffee cake and chocolate chip cookies. In Grandma's recipe box, down in Florida, there were about 18 different recipes for coffee cake. 

Grandma singing to us before bed: "Jesus Loves Me", and other classics. Seeing Grandma up in the choir in her blue robe.

Watching Jeopardy. 

Reading old issues of Readers' Digest while Grandma read the paper.  Grandma slowly nodding off to sleep and then announcing, "Well, I'm going to fold up".

Walking down to the water together to sit on the bench and watch the boats and the swimmers, or just the seagulls pointing into the wind. 

Walking along the beach with Grandma and collecting pink shells and smooth little pebbles. 

Grandma bustling to the door, singing out, "I'm coming!". Being greeted with a big smile, sparkling eyes and a joyful hug and kiss. 

Beeping goodbye to Grandma as she waved from the stoop, and then waving again after she'd hustled through the house to the dining room.






To John and Dick I send my heartwarming loving thoughts to you both at this time.
To Grandma I thank you for being in my life.  When I have my cup of tea  with that piece of chocolate I will smile knowing you would be enjoying it with me. Blessings to you and enjoy singing with the choir of angels. Love Lesley
