Eugenia E. (“Jean”) Mulhall of Boca Raton went to be with God in peace, and without pain or fear, on Thursday, December 30, 2021. She was 82 years old. Jean was born in Pittston, PA on April 16, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Felice. She graduated from West Pittston High School in 1956 and from Marywood University in Scranton, PA in 1960. Shortly after graduating from Marywood, she married her high school sweetheart, John Mulhall. “Jeannie and Johnny” would be together for the next 60 years, until John’s passing in March. Their lives together, and John’s career as a business executive with IBM, took them from Philadelphia, PA to Washington, DC to Rochester, NY, before making Boca Raton their home in 1983.
Jean selflessly dedicated herself to her family, especially her three children, and loved the bustle of activity in the family home in Fairport, NY when they were growing up. She was especially happy to see and experience the same love and energy in their homes when they became adults. Jean and John were blessed with many wonderful friends with whom they built marvelous memories and lasting relationships.
Jean was a devout Catholic, who put her trust and faith in God. She and John served as Marriage Preparation Course instructors for soon-to-be-wed Catholic couples in Boca Raton for over 25 years. Jean was a lifelong lover of music. Jean was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and was an accomplished pianist. She joyfully shared her talents by giving private piano lessons and serving as a substitute music teacher at the local junior and senior high schools. Jean played a wide range of classical and popular music, and her selections made music an important feature in family life. Her music often filled the family home and neighborhood, with many wonderful evenings being spent around the piano in fellowship with family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Felice, Jr. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Lisa Mulhall of Boca Raton, and their children, Megan Jack and Michael; her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and April Mulhall of Boca Raton, and their son, Matthew; and her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jean and Martin Stevens of Nashville, TN, and their children, Patrick and Grace; and a large extended family with whom she and John kept in touch and spent many wonderful times over the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in South Florida at a time and date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Trustbridge Hospice Care.
