

Eugenia Lenox West, 79, died on August 16 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jean was born on August 21, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Joseph Stanley Lenox and Dorothy Lies Lenox.
In 1953 she graduated from the Roland Park Country School in Baltimore. And in 1957 Jean graduated from Beaver College, Glenside, PA (currently Arcadia University) where she ”made an impact on many as an exceptional athlete. Jean was on the Varsity Swim team and played Varsity Field Hockey, Basketball and Lacrosse for all four years at college. In field hockey she was All-Sectional for four years in the area including New Jersey and Delaware. She is a field hockey All–American.” On Oct. 10, 2008 Jean was inducted into the Arcadia University Athletic Hall of Fame.
On June 16, 1956 Jean married William Stuart West in Baltimore and relocated to Radnor, Pennsylvania in 1957. Jean and Bill lived in the Main Line area until 1994 when they moved permanently to Delray Beach, Florida. He preceded her in death August 7, 1999. They were happily married for 43 years. Apart from being a loving wife and mother of four, Jean was involved in a variety of charity activities for organizations like Arcadia University, The Phoenixville YMCA and Roland Park Country School amongst many others.
Surviving are four children; Stuart Lenox West (Stockholm, Sweden), Nancy Jean West Loch (Dallas, Texas), Douglas Herman West (Downingtown, Pennsylvania), Timothy Risberg West (Easton, Connecticut); and 12 grandchildren.
