

Brand, Frank A. Sr. 90, of Boca Raton, Florida and Lynnfield, Massachusetts passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 2, 2015. He was an avid boater and active in business up until his passing. He joined the Navy at the age of 18 and served in Hawaii, Okinawa, and the Philippines His early career included 20 years with Ft. Monmouth in Red Bank, New Jersey where he led their civilian electronics division while also serving as a Professor in Electrical Engineering at Monmouth College in West Long Branch New Jersey.
Following his time at Ft. Monmouth, he moved on to Microwave Associates in Burlington, Massachusetts as Vice-President of the semiconductor division. He later served as Chief Operating Officer , Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Executive Officer for M/A-COM in Burlington, Massachusetts.
He was a Fellow of the IEEE and served on numerous boards of directors including 20 years on the Nypro Inc. board. He received Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Physics from Brooklyn Polytechnic University and earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from UCLA.
He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Elaine Marie Brand and his grandson Damon, and is survived by his wife Pauline and her daughter Dainelle, his six children, daughter Kathleen A. Glus and her husband Jack, Nancy J. Garrison and her husband Robert, Frank A. Brand Jr. and his wife Nancy, Robert E. Brand and his wife Joan, Jeannette M. Wilkinson and Thomas P. Brand and his wife Tabitha. His 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren will all miss him dearly. He will be remembered for his love of life, his generosity, compassion for people and his desire to see his children and grandchildren thrive through education. The family will receive friends at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home (East Chapel), 1100 N. Federal Hwy., Boca Raton, FL on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. A funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6301 SW 18 St., Boca Raton, FL on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. with interment immediately following the service at Boca Raton Municipal Cemetery, 449 SW 4 Ave., Boca Raton, FL.
