Frank Watkins began playing guitar at the tender age of 12 and became one of the most influential and legendary death/black metal bassists. Though his career was cut horribly short, he had demonstrated his passion for music. Frank Watkins, also well respected as a business man, helped promote bands with his own company ‘Back From the Dead Productions.’ Frank Watkins passed away on October 18, 2015 at around 8:30 A.M in Boca Raton, FL as a result of a battle with lymphoma.
At the age of 17 Frank had joined his first band. In 1990 he joined Obituary and went on to record and tour as the bassist. The relationship with Obituary went on for over 20 years. Later Frank signed on with Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth.
Frank leaves behind his wife Epistimi and their children Frank Jr. and Jack, his mother Helene and step-father Al, as well as his younger brothers Brian and Matthew.
