Irene A Montreuil

MONTREUIL - Irene A. Born in Jamaica, NY on October 16, 1923 to Francis and Louise Meeks passed away June 28, 2014. She was the beloved sister to the late Frank Meeks. Reunited now with her predeceased husband, Gregory Montreuil. Irene was a US Navy veteran of World War II, marrying her high school sweetheart, Gregory upon his return from a German POW camp. With her husband, Irene settled in New Hyde Park, NY and raised four children. She was an active and stalwart volunteer in church and school events, including serving as one of the “Hot Dog Ladies” every week at Holy Spirit School and as a girls basketball coach for many years. Irene was a former resident of Delrey Beach, Florida, Red Hook, NY and finally Wilmington, NC. She touched many lives in each community with her wonderful and engaging personality. She is survived and will be forever cherished by her children and their families; Irene Mary and John Coyle, Gregory and Toni Montreuil, Thomas and Marianne Montreuil, Lawrence and Annie Montreuil. Irene will be forever in the hearts of her 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A wake service will be help at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home at 1100 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on July 2, 2014, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lucy¹s Roman Catholic Church at 3510 South Ocean Boulevard, Highland Beach, Fl. Interment with Military Honors will immediately follow at Boynton Beach Memorial Park, Boynton Beach, FL
