Our beloved son and only child, James William Baker, passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2021 from presumably a heart attack from complications due to Kawasaki Disease that he contracted in his youth. Jimmy was born on April 1, 1985 in Hartford, Connecticut. He attended Glastonbury Public School and graduated from Glastonbury High School. He also attended Johnson & Wales for two semesters.
Jimmy loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, boating and sports. He was the Connecticut State BMX champion for his age category at 5 years old. He loved baseball and was a skilled and accomplished player.
Jimmy loved being with his good friends, having a BBQ, playing poker and fishing. Jimmy’s smile was infectious and his kindness, compassion, love and devotion to many is what he will be remembered by most. Jimmy was loved by many and considered an extremely exceptional young man.
Jimmy is predeceased by his grandparents Cecelia & Raymond Miller, and Anne & Jack Baker who he loved immensely and his loyal and loved dog Sarge who was his best buddy for many years.
Jimmy is survived by his loving parents Jacqueline and Glenn Baker of Marco Island, Florida. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and cousins; Jennifer Finstad, his best friend and roommate who he loved dearly and her dog Izzy; Danny Beisner, his great friend and fishing buddy; his bar and poker playing friends and numerous other friends from Connecticut, Las Vegas and Florida. Jimmy cherished the people in his life and spoke of them often with kind words.
Visitation arrangements will be held at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 for family and friends to view and say good-bye to Jimmy. He will be cremated thereafter.
