Jeanne Roberta Sussieck

Jeanne Roberta Sussieck, aged 95, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, in Boca Raton, Florida. Born on May 9, 1930, Jeanne devoted much of her life to educating young minds as an elementary school teacher in Palm Beach County, where she left a lasting impact on hundreds of students.

Jeanne was a graduate of Manhasset Secondary School in Manhasset, New York and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She continued to apply her passion for knowledge throughout her life. She was known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and her ability to listen and engage meaningfully with others. Her interests were vast and varied, including traveling, reading, sewing, painting, swimming, beach combing, and snorkeling. Jeanne's love for animals and dedication to environmental causes were evident through her support of local initiatives like the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton.

She was a regular attendee at St. Lucy Catholic Church in Highland Beach, where she found great comfort and community.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Robert Sussieck. She leaves behind many loving family members, friends, devoted care providers, and former students, all of whom felt the warmth of her gentle spirit.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any of the following organizations: The Boca Raton Post-Polio Group, The Post-Polio Clinic at UC Davis established by Dr. Carol Vandenneker, a post-polio clinician and researcher or The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton, an organization close to Jeanne's heart and reflective of her commitment to the environment.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on July 29, 2025, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at Babione - Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation, located at 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33432, US.

A Committal Service will follow on the same day from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Boca Raton Mausoleum, located at 451 SW 4th Ave, Boca Raton, FL 33432, US.
