Aquino, Jennie of Boca Raton, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 13, 1926, she lived through the wonderful and hard times of the period. She was a celebrated singer at her church and was even courted by a big band leader. She and her younger sister, Kay and brother Joe were heartbroken over the loss of their brother Ed who died before fulfilling his dream of becoming a doctor. Joe heard the news while fighting behind enemy lines in Europe. Jennie left school before graduating to become a seamstress to help make money for her family. Years later, she met her husband, Antonio, while visiting family in the south of Italy. They later married and settled back in Brooklyn where she gave birth to her four children; Vincent, John, Anthony and Teresa. After her husband suffered a heart attack in 1967, the family relocated to the warmer weather of Fort Lauderdale. Each of her children attended undergraduate college at FSU and further training led the family expansion west to Texas and California. Jennie is preceded in death by her husband Antonio and will be forever missed by her children (named above) and their spouses, Yvette, Catherine, Ron, and soon to be daughter-in law, Brenda. She is forever imprinted into the hearts of her eight adoring grandchildren: Keaton, Michael, Vincent, John, Gabrielle, Anthony Jr., Brooke and Valentina. The family wishes to pay special thanks to Jennifer Guy, our mother’s caregiver, who allowed Jennie to live her last years with great dignity, love and joy. In lieu of flowers, our family thanks you for any charitable donation made to: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 58 Progress Parkway, St. Louis, Missouri 63043-3706 or online at: http://svdprvc.org/ - Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th from 4 to 8PM at Babione Funeral Home West at 10060 Calle Comercio Drive, Boca Raton, FL 33428 (561) 483-9500.
