Joan Lodato

Born on July 12, 1954, to Peter and Paola Palminteri, Joan dedicated her life to the people she loved most. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Anthony, with whom she shared 49 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life and family filled with love, treasured memories, and countless moments that will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

Joan was the loving mother of Lisa, Paula, and Joanna, and the proud grandmother of Angelica, Isabella, Nicolas, Audriana, and Angelo. Her family was her greatest joy and most treasured accomplishment. She loved them deeply and selflessly, always placing the needs of those she loved before her own.

She was also a beloved sister to Fran and Maria and a cherished aunt to her nieces, Paula Marie, Cristina, and Carilena. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Lenny. The love she shared with her siblings, nieces, and extended family was a treasured part of her life, and the memories they created together will remain forever in their hearts.

Throughout her life, Joan worked as a workers’ compensation adjuster while also embracing one of her most important roles: homemaker and the heart of her family. She gave her time, love, and entire self to the people around her.

Joan was selfless, compassionate, kind, quiet, and graceful. She never needed to be the loudest person in the room to leave a lasting impression; her gentle presence spoke for itself. Her beauty was not only evident on the outside but was also reflected in the way she loved, cared for, comforted, and gave to others without expecting anything in return.

Her two-year journey with pancreatic cancer tested her in ways no one should have to endure, yet she continued to face each day with remarkable strength and dignity. Although her battle came to an end, she did not lose. She ultimately won her battle with pancreatic cancer through every day she continued to love, every moment she shared with her family, every memory she created, and every life she touched.

Joan leaves behind a family who will carry her love forward: her devoted husband, Anthony; her daughters, Lisa, Paula, and Joanna; her five beloved grandchildren, Angelica, Isabella, Nicolas, Audriana, and Angelo; her sisters, Fran and Maria; and her nieces, Paula Marie, Cristina, and Carilena. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved brother and parents, Lenny, Peter, and Paola.

Though our hearts are broken by her absence, Joan’s love will remain with us forever. It lives in her children, her grandchildren, her sisters and nieces, the memories she created, and the countless ways she taught us what it means to love someone selflessly and unconditionally.

Her time on earth may have come to an end, but her love never will.

She fought bravely. She loved deeply. She lived gracefully. And in the end, she went home to God having won the only battle that truly mattered: the battle to remain herself, to remain loving, and to leave this world surrounded by the love of her family.
