John P. Furey Jr.

John P. Furey, Jr., 47, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2009. Beloved husband of Mary Jo, loving father of Heather and Brian Brinley, John P. Furey III, Thomas Furey, and Samantha Furey. Cherished grandfather of Conner and Grace Brinley. He is also survived by his father John P. Furey, Sr. and his wife Sandy; his sisters, Mary Martha Woodworth and Ann Marie Burke. John was predeceased by his mother Joanne K. Furey. John was born and raised in Wethersfield, CT; from 1980 t0 1985, he served in the U.S. Navy at NAS Boca Chica in Key West, Florida. He returned home to Connecticut to pursue a career in the insurance industry. In 1993 he and his family moved to Boca Raton opening the John P. Furey Company, a family owned and operated independent insurance agency since 1952. As a family man, John demonstrated integrity in all endeavors, personal and professional. John was an avid fisherman, participating in The Coconuts annual dolphin tournament in Key Largo, Florida. He will be dearly missed. Family and friends may gather Tuesday, September 8th from 5:00-8:00pm at Babione Funeral Home in East Boca Raton, Florida. A Mass to celebrate his life will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Deerfield Beach, Florida followed by Military Funeral Honors.
