John was a partner with the firm of KPMG Peat Marwick, where he worked for 32 years. Upon his retirement from KPMG Peat Marwick, John took on another venture with a group of people and started Miami Air International, a charter airline, in 1991.
John loved golf and was a long time member of Manasquan River Golf Club, until he relocated to Florida to start Miami Air.
John's dry sense of humor and quick wit will be remembered by all who knew him, as well as his love for animals, especially his dogs.
John is survived by his wife Donna, his nephew Anthony Butkus, his grandnephew Cole Butkus and Donna's family.
