My first Christmas in Boca Raton in 1986, I about fell off the couch when I saw my neighbor, Joe Hancock, on the TV news. He was officiating at the annual holiday celebration put on at the Boca Raton Water Department. Joe was handing out gifts to children and having a good time doing it and he continued doing it for many years. I remember him introducing me to "Reverse Osmosis" water treatment when it was the newest thing. He also gave me an invitation to the opening ceremony for Project IRIS, providing reclaimed water for irrigation to downtown Boca. Joe was a great guy in many ways. I was blessed to have him as a friend and as a neighbor.
