To the Kirley family,
So sorry to hear about Joe’s passing. We were friends back at OLMC in Elmsford and spent many fun afternoons on Hillside Ave. and even S. Manor Rd. after he moved. It seemed so far away.  When Nixon was running for President, Joe had a Nixon Now button that he edited to say Nixon No! We were only 9 years old so it was impressive and memorable. May he rest in peace.

My name is John Pedulla, and I was a classmate of Joe’s in high school, at Stepinac HS in White Plains. We graduated from there together in 1981. 

I recall Joe as a good and kind man, I’m sure he was that way all his life, and I hope he now rests in the kingdom with Our Lord.

I knew Joe well in my youth. He and I, including his two brothers, Pat and Tommy, spent long hours playing wiffle/tennis ball in the Kirley's backyard and "army" in the woods of the property - fond memories. My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. and Mrs. Kirley and family. My heart goes out to all. I knew Nora who is my aunt Aileens' sister and had the pleasure of getting to know Joe. He was so kind and a gentle soul. He took care of Nora in her time of need. I shared many holidays with Joe and it was my honor to have known such a wonderful man. My deepest sympathies.

Growing up in a neighborhood during a time when everyone knew each other, I am saddened by the loss of Joseph.  To me he was always “Patrick’s older brother”, and I have memories of  him as a big baseball fan who was always interested in our baseball cards -  “who did you get…any Yankees?”  I also remember all the backyard games of baseball, and touch football that went on for hours.  My condolences to the family.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My Condolences to Joe's family.  I had known Joe from when he started dating my sister Nora.  When they had their time apart when they were younger, Joe was always there as a good friend to my sister and later became her husband and best friend.  He cared for my sister like no other person Ever could, and I loved and appreciated him for that.  I know that Joe is at peace and finally reunited with his best friend and love.  I will miss seeing him and will always remember him and how important he was to our family.

I have great memories of time spent at the Kirley house playing in the backyard as kids and sleepovers as well as just hanging out in the neighborhood.   While I was friends with Patrick in elementary school, I do remember Joe as the older brother always close by.   May he rest in heavenly peace.

Dear Peggy and Joe,
This is my second attempt to put into words what we are feeling and find that words don't seem to be enough to convey our grief and  convey comfort to you. Joseph was one of our own. Our children played together from their early years. Our own friendship goes back to college days and in the '60's we find ourselves living a few houses apart so that our girls and boys could forge long lasting friendships of their own. That continues to today.  We send loving thoughts to you and Joe, Theresa, Patrick and Tommy.Joseph is now at peace and I hope this brings some measure of peace to you and Joe

This is so sad to hear.  Our families grew up in the early years together in Elmsford, until about 1973 .  Joe was my first friend as a kid and  I recall going to a few Mets & Yankee games together with our dads.   There are so many early childhood memories we shared. 
 
My condolences to the entire Kirley family,   I am very sorry for the passing of Joe. 

Praying for Joseph and the Kirley family.  I have the greatest memories going to their house as a child and playing in the backyard with all the family and their dog Cinder.  I think you could see for miles from their backyard if I recall. Inside the house was jovial where there were often times people playing music and singing.  My dad navigating the driveway always brings back memories too and always makes me laugh.  God Bless.

I was saddened to hear of the passing away of Joseph.  We were childhood classmates who lost touch with each other, as many of us do, as time passes.  However, he left an impression on me of a very thoughtful and intelligent soul, even back then.  Please accept my sincerest sympathies.  

My deepest sympathy to Aunt Peggy and Uncle Joe, Theresa (and her family), Patrick and Thomas. I have a fond memory of Joe and Nora at Kathleen and John Mateko's wedding. We had cocktails and conversation together. I remember their happiness that day. May  your happy memories bring comfort and smiles at this difficult time. God bless both Nora and Joe as they share the peace of heaven together.

That picture is how I’ll remember Joseph. We shared a lot of laughs in our young years. Always a warm, friendly disposition to all, even when Joseph was around all his crazy cousins.

Childhood memories with Joseph won’t ever fade. Living just 3 houses apart in Elmsford, I remember when, behind the Kirley home, we invited our parents to watch us play The World Series. I can’t recall how we made up our teams between the Kirley kids and Valentinos, but I do remember that right before the game we went to Max & Fred’s, around the corner, to buy candy to sell at the game.  We spent those precious years together playing inside and out nearly every day. Theresa reminds me I “married” Joseph in a play wedding but his true love was his wife Nora whom he worshipped and they are finally together now.  Wishing a peaceful and eternal rest for Joseph and Nora, and much comfort and love to his family, our oldest and dearest friends.

So saddened by this news. Although Joseph and I lost track of each other after elementary school, I have fond memories of my early friendship with him. The Brothers Fuchs vs. the Brothers Kirley in two-on-two touch football games that inevitably turned into full-on tackle but always stayed friendly. I mourn his passing and send love and support to his family.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of the Kirley brothers and McIntyre brothers playing hours of ball sports in your backyard.  Joseph was the oldest and always nice to us younger kids.
We spent a lot of time together in our youth, all of it very good. God bless you in heaven.

I know Joseph is with God. Beloved brother and son as well as husband.

So saddened to hear of the passing of my older brother yesterday morning. Growing up in Elmsford, Joseph was popular and had many good friends. He was an altar boy at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. He was very smart and had a love of sports. He was an avid Yankee and Minnesota Vikings fan. He pushed me to play baseball when I was just 5 or 6 but I wanted nothing to do with it. He kept pressuring me and when I finally gave in I fell in love with the game and excelled at it for the next 15 years and well into college. I give him the credit for that. Thank you big brother. He went on to excel in soccer and rugby at Archbishop Stepinac and later graduated from Fordham University. He had great work ethic and was successful in the actuary profession and was a successful entrepreneur as well. His greatest love though was for his adored wife Nora of 23 years, with whom he is now peacefully reunited with for eternity.
