Josephine Montanaro was born on February 23, 1928, in Flushing, New York. She was one of 18 children born to Rose Cavallaro and Joseph Zarcone. Rose was a homemaker and Joseph was a great baker. He had a bakery in Corona, NY and made the best Sicilian pizza! Having 18 children, the joke in the family was that he always kept one in the oven!
Jo married Pat on April 6, 1949. They had three daughters – Joann, Barbara and Diann. Their marriage of 72 years was blessed by many special events. Eventually, the family found their way to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and then Boca Raton. Jo worked in retail and in 1972 started working with Pat at Height’s Auto Salvage. Even though Pat was the “boss”, Jo was more than a silent partner.
Jo loved going to the casino, and as a matter of fact went to two different casinos two weeks before she passed! She is survived by her loving husband Pat, three daughters, seven grandchildren and their spouses, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She will forever be in our hearts and missed dearly.
The family requests NO FLOWERS as the building where she will be entombed does not allow any flowers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Josephine's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
