

Born on February 17, 1937, in Newark, New Jersey, Judith was the beloved daughter of Lilian and George. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Mary Washington and later received her Master’s in Education from Florida Atlantic University, reflecting her lifelong commitment to education and hard work.
Judith was the loving wife of Robert “Pappa” Edward Roeber, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. To those who loved them, “Nanny and Pappa” were rarely spoken apart, a reflection of the lasting partnership and family legacy they created together.
She was a devoted mother to Paul Douglas Roeber and his wife, Terry; Beth Ann DiMauro and her husband, Joseph; Nancy Carol Hall and her husband, Dan; and Susan Elizabeth Mitchell and her husband, Patrick. She was a cherished grandmother to eleven grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren.
Those who knew Nanny will remember her for her quiet strength, sharp wit, and deep devotion to family. She had a gift for showing up, paying attention, and making the people she loved feel taken care of, valued, and deeply loved.
Nanny’s legacy lives on in the big family she so clearly loved, the values she embodied, and the countless memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
