Kerry J. Donovan

Kerry was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey and grew up both in Fords and Carteret, New Jersey. He is the son of John B. Donovan and Audrey E. (Burke) Donovan who have predeceased him.

He is a graduate of Carteret High School’s class of ‘65 and John J.Pershing College in Nebraska, class of ‘71.

As a Carteret elementary and middle school teacher for 26 years, Kerry created many fond memories for students and families alike.

After his retirement from education, Kerry enjoyed the beautiful weather and beaches of South Florida listening to his radio stations and continuing to cheer on his New York Yankees, New York Giants, and the Irish from Notre Dame.

Before his passing, Kerry forged a 78 year trail of laughter, generosity, compassion and having memorable moments with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathleen (Toth) Donovan, his son Kasey, his daughter-in-law Hannah, and his best companion, Finn.

The family simply requests to light a candle in his memory, have a mass said in his name, or just raise a glass to toast an old friend.
