Lea at a softball game always meant a fun time for all of us.  We enjoyed her laughter, her excitement at seeing Amy at bat, her loud cheers and even louder disapproval of an unfair empire's call.  Simple moments shared on few Sundays, treasured moments nonetheless because we all knew that we had an angel in our midst. May she rest in peace.  Shelly, Tim, Ian and Amy, you took great care great care of her and are an inspiration to us.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Tim, Shelli, Ian, Amy and Bill...to say it was a privilege to know Lea would be doing her and heaven an injustice. It was a blessing to know Lea. She was everyone's little taste of heaven here on earth. I have thought long and hard on a precious memory for Lea, but there isn't just one. Every time you were with Lea, it was a precious memory. Her smile and laughter were infectious. There were a couple of memories that stood out. One was when she was in the office one day and sitting by Shelli's desk. She and I had been joking with one another and I dropped something on the floor and told her it was her fault. She looked at Shelli with the funniest expression and then just began to laugh that hardy laugh she had and all three of us were giggling like little girls. The other memory is seeing her at the ball field and hearing her cheer for Tim. Even if he struck out! She loved her Daddy! She was God's example to us of how we should love....completely and unconditionally. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of her life. She was my little sis and my friend. The world is missing just a little piece of beauty now that's she's gone, but heaven has gained a precious jewel. Thoughts, love and prayers go out to you from the family.

The song, "If you could see me now" comes to my mind as I think about Lea. She is alive in her new body, present with the Lord,  walking and running down the streets of gold. She is surrounded by loved ones that went ahead of her and there is a lot of catching up to do.  She has probably picked out a favorite cloud and some friends to go cloud racing with. All her tears and pain have become joy, gladness, laughter.  She is in the presence of Jesus, worshipping and enjoying Him. Lea, I will miss our Sunday mornings trying to solve a word puzzle, especially when we found one and I would always get one of your special hugs. Seeing Lea in her Awana vest reminded me of working with her on a jewel  and one requirement was to go on a nature walk with the leader.  We walked around the church and these purple flowers were in bloom and she would point to them and laugh.  At the end of the walk she gave me a Lea hug and that was the start of a beautiful friendship.

Dear Family and Friends, 

I just wanted to express my continued prayers for you and to recognize an Angel. I met Lea back in 2006 as my student at Summer School. We saw each other almost every day, and I just fell in love with her smile, humility and simplicity. Her hugs and sweetness made every summer we spend together joyous and humbling.  She was also the first person I knew at Boca Glades Baptist, and the first to always greet me with a huge hug every time at Children's Sunday School. She ministered my life every time we made eye contact and will be truly missed, but Angels belong in Heaven.  Thank you Lord for sharing Lea!
