Lou was born August 31, 1938, to Louis and Vera Girolami. He grew up in Bronx, N.Y., where he also met and married the love of his life, Stephanie, of 63 years. They raised their 3 children (Louis, Peter, and Stephanie) on Long Island and later moved to the Carolinas. He first worked as a TV repairman, and then joined Union local 52 as a stage electrician. Lou’s career in the movie industry included positions as chief lighting person, production manager, & owner of a film equipment rental company. He worked on many movies and TV series including West Side Story, The Detective 7 UP, and The Shaft. He retired as a manager for Paramount Pictures and served 6 years in the Army National Guard.
Lou is survived by his daughter Stephanie Verderber and his son, Peter Girolami.
He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, John (Shannon) Verderber, Jessica Girolami, Peter Girolami Jr, Gerard Verderber, Jason (Laura) Girolami.
Lou is also survived by his 5 great granddaughters, Camryn, Cassandra and Chloe Verderber, and Gianna and Bianca Girolami.
He is also survived by his two brothers, Bob and Rich Girolami.
He was preceded in death by his wife Stephanie Girolami, his son Louis Girolami III, and his grandson Joey Verderber.
Lou was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed tennis, boating, his dogs, being with family and never left a story untold. He will be missed by all.
