Lucy Marie Arrigo, age 96, of Boca Raton, Florida died peacefully in her home on Tuesday September 7, 2021. Lucy was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank in 2019. Lucy was born in Boston on November 18, 1925 to Grace and Sully Ciccio and remained in the greater Boston area until relocating to Boca Raton in 1994 to be closer to the sunshine and her grandchildren. In her younger years Lucy loved to go out dancing into the wee hours with Frank, host dinner parties at their home in Stoughton, MA, and visit with friends and family as often as possible. Guests always felt welcome in her home, and the common refrain “Did you eat?” will be remembered by many. Lucy loved all things related to chickens and roosters, as well as Miss Piggy—the name of her last car before she stopped driving due to glaucoma.
Lucy leaves behind children Francis Arrigo (Mary Duggan) and Susan Bonacci (James); beloved grandchildren and their families: Mark Hemeon (Darlene), Angela Ziegler (Timothy), and Caroline Hubbell (Keith), as well as great-grandchildren Alexandra, Cecilia, Francesca, Edward, Matthew, and Willow. Lucy’s passing will be felt by so many others who fell in love with her charm over her lifetime. The ladies in the handbag section at Macy’s, the pharmacy, eye doctor, hair and nail salons, and even at Publix. For many years Lucy couldn’t see anyone’s faces because of the glaucoma induced blindness she suffered from, but she never forgot a person and she always ensured that people knew they were remembered.
Lucy’s passing is incredibly sad for those who loved her, but we must all take comfort in knowing that she and Frank are finally back together, dancing together cheek to cheek in Heaven. Just like she wanted.
Funeral services will be held on September 19th at Babione Funeral Home in West Boca Raton from 2-4pm, followed by Mass on Monday September 20th at 10am at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by a burial ceremony at South Florida National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
