Margaret Woodhouse Lee, 66, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away at the Hospice by The Sea in Boca Raton, on Saturday, February 13th, 2016. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on August 26th, 1949 to Elizabeth and Elton Woodhouse. Margaret attended Catholic Central High School in Springfield, Ohio and graduated with a B.A. Degree in Art from Mount St. Joseph University, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Margaret worked as visual merchandiser for Shillitos-Rikes department stores (Cincinnati, Ohio) and later as Director of Visual Merchandising for Finlay Fine Jewelry (NYC) a national chain of fine jewelry locations. In 1983 she married John W. Lee II and began a life long career dedicated to spreading her joy of life to each and every person she encountered. All who met her were immediately infected with her happiness and inner beauty which radiated throughout her person, starting with her captivating eyes. Margaret loved life and shared that love freely and enthusiastically. She was gifted with grace and creativity and a joyful, grateful, fun loving nature. Those who got to know her well were truly blessed. Her wish would be that her “joie du vie” continue through those of us who are left behind.
For the past thirty plus years she and her husband John traveled the globe most frequently in the company of dearest friends, John and Susan Herma of Fort Lauderdale, Florida in exploration of understanding, wonder and fulfillment.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband, John W. Lee II, sons John W. Lee III and wife Brittany and Robert T. Lee and his fiancé, Carson Silvus; her three siblings, Connie Haacke and husband Joseph, Jerry Woodhouse and wife Christine, Allan Woodhouse and wife Nancy; by two step daughters Heather Daut and husband James, and Meredith Sharkey; and by her cherished dog, Ozzy. She also leaves behind many dear, close friends who will morn her departure including Ann Marchetti, Susan Jacob and Kim Nabulsi, just to name a few. She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Catherine (Hughes) Woodhouse and father Elton Lee Woodhouse.
Margaret will be cremated, as was her wish, and her remains will be interred at the Boca Raton Mausoleum in a companion urn which will eventually include the remains of her husband John. A small gathering of local friends and family will attend a private commital ceremony on February 28th at the interment site. A grand celebration of life will be scheduled for a date, place and time in the near future.
Memorial donations may be made in Margaret’s name to New Hope for Cancer (www.newhopeforcancer.org). All proceeds will go to support ovarian cancer patients who can not afford vital supplemental and alternative treatments.
