Aunt Marie,
I will always know you as Aunt Marie and my grandmother's best friend. One of the kindest sweetest most loving people I know. I truly wish I could have spent more time with you. One of my greatest memories was Thanksgiving with you and Grandma Nina where we we snapped this picture. I will always cherish our time together. Celebrate your 91st bday with your best friend in heaven. You will be forever missed.

We have some great memories of our times with my Cousins Marie and Frankie.  We loved going over for the bbq's, shooting the breeze, and Marie's delicious cooking.  We always had a good time when we were together talking about the good ol days, food, and our aches and pains, and more food. All the best to the family.

Even though I was 1, this will forever be my favorite picture of my grandma and me! This captures all things Marie! She always got down on our level to play, obviously seen in the picture, her love for life by being silly and dressing up! Her gentle embrace and loving spirit will greatly be missed! 

I can only wish to be as great of a person as she was and will forever aspire to be! 

Grandma, thank you for always being there and loving me. To truly understand your greatness, they would need to know you because it is undescribable! 

I miss you everyday, but I know you and Frankie are finally reunited and having a blast!

My mom was indeed the best mom and the greatest cook, bar none!  Not only baking desserts, but she had quite the knack of creating the most delicious meal out of leftovers and whatever she had in the frig.  Yummy soups!  We both love cooking and I spent every moment of my visits cooking with her and when my son, Mark, grew older, he joined us!  We had some serious cooking experiences.  I learned everything I know from her and yet I still have questions………91 years was just not enough time.  

Besides the best mom and the greatest cook, she was my best friend!  She not only shared her wisdom and her strengths with me but her weaknesses and her fears and vulnerabilities, which made for a very honest friendship that was evident despite the distance between us.  My daughter Tina said when she was pregnant, “Mom, I am nervous about having a little girl because I am not sure I can be best friends with her like you and grandma.”  I replied:  “No worries because it is hereditary…Mom was best friends with her mom and I am best friends with my mom and daughter….whether you have a son or a daughter, you will be besties.”  

I appreciated and loved everything about my mom.  Especially her wit and goofy humor, her simple love for everyday life and her ability to get down to your level to connect, especially with the grandkids.   She lived to be productive every day, even if it was one small task.  She was a true servant who selflessly gave with a glad heart and made sacrifices to keep peace and harmony.  She delighted in and cherished every moment with family and friends.  They were her world!  

I am most grateful for her faith in God.  Her faith was the beginning of my faith.  And without my faith in Jesus, I would not get thru one day!   

I love you mama, more than words can express .  I think of you throughout my day, every day!  I cherish my memories of you.  I will miss you immeasurably!  But I know I will be reunited with you again in Glory.  Enjoy Jesus, mama! 


Cousin Marie is what I called her. Her mom and my dad's mom were sisters.   I will always remember her for her warm smile, her sweetness, and of course her COOKING/BAKING! When I was a kid it was always such a special treat to go to cousin Marie and Frankie's house. First of all, they had a pool, second I knew I was going to have an outstanding meal. The two of them cooking together was phenomenal. Some of my favorites were her baked beans, and I hated beans but not cousin Marie's, eggplant caponata, delicious apple cake, and of course her amazing cheesecake. There were times my parents would visit and I couldn't be there, so she would send a doggie bag home for me with all the wonderful things she cooked that day. 
I may not have spoken to her as of late but I would always ask my 
 dad "how's cousin Marie" as I know he kept in touch with her. I'll miss receiving a christmas card from her this year as she would always write a heart warming message.  
I've had a thinking of you card sitting on my desk for the last month that I was going to send to her to put a smile on her face during this whole virus crisis. Life would get in the way every day and I kept saying I'll write it tomorrow. Now it's too late. Lesson to self, don't procrastinate. I hope as I continue to grow old I can be as kind as she was, a great mom like she was who adored her family, and an excellent BAKER! 

    I was 8 years old and preparing to receive confirmation.  My 
mother asked me who I  wanted to be my Godmother.  I immediately said Aunt Marie.   I had a choice of several other people but, I said without hesitation, "No, I want Aunt Marie".      
   She graciously and lovingly agreed.  So my name will forever
be RoseAnn Marie.  A most beautiful memory for me.
   
   Mark did not have the privilege of knowing her as long as I did,
but he absolutely loved her.  We loved the holidays that we were able to share together.  She made them special. We will cherish those memories.  

   Aunt Marie made the best brussel sprouts that Mark and I had
ever eaten.  She lovingly gave him the recipe, but nothing we
made could compare to the master.  Lets not forget about the
cheesecakes, apples sauce and truffles.  

   Her children, Cosmo, Lucille, Kathy and Stephen, who she adored, were so lucky to have her as a Mother. 

   A person like Aunt Marie only comes along once in a lifetime.
She will be cherished and remembered forever
   

Grandma,
Our lives go on without you but nothing is the same , we have to hide our heart aches when someone speaks your name. Sad are the hearts that love you, silent are the tears that fall, living on without you is the hardest part of all. You did so many things for us, your heart was kind and true and when we needed someone, we could always count on you. The special years will not return when we were all together, but your love lives on within our hearts and you'll walk with us forever.

My Mom was the most important person in my life.
All through my life she was always there when I needed her.
She was without a doubt one of the strongest people I know.
In addition to the holidays and special occasions that we enjoyed together, Mom and I had the pleasure of sharing  everyday life together as she lived with me. We enjoyed our days starting out with morning breakfast , Grocery shopping on the weekends, who was the best by the way I have seen getting all the BOGOs and sale items. Every night we had a great dinner that no restaurant compared to and we shared conversations of our day .She was an apple phone user and loved her computer also where she passed a lot of her time of day online shopping, emailing and playing solitaire.  We enjoyed texting each other through the day as she was a professional emoji user. Taking care of her was my priority. She also helped me by always being there to listen and help me through my troubles as well. We shared a life together that I enjoyed and I could not have asked for better.  She was a loving and kind person who always thought of others first. I know She appreciated the time we had together though her golden years and enjoyed her life right up to the end before she became sick. I have lost not only my Mother this week but my best friend as well. I feel fortunate that I have had my Mom in my life always and am heartbroken that she is gone. I will never forget her and will always miss her dearly. Rest peacefully Mom, thank you for everything and I will love you forever.

I will always remember my aunt Marie, she was so kind, always cooking up a storm...loved to have people over. Marie's mom and Marie's brother lived up stairs from us in Brooklyn.
I remember visiting her and my uncle Carl (my godfather) in long island when they moved from Brooklyn to a  single family home.  Wow It had grass and a back yard...loved playing with Cosmo, Steven and the girls there. Our family was always close around the holidays in Selden... Family was everything to her. She will be missed.

She is known as “Aunt Marie”  and we loved her dearly.  My Mom, Nina Marie Adamo, was her childhood friend. In fact they were called the “Bobbsey Twins” and hung out together. Aunt Marie was the nice one! Maybe it was Good Cop/Bad Cop, but my mom loved her, and as we know, Nina did not like that many people. Aunt Marie was my favorite Aunt, and later in life when I told her that, she replied “Is it because I am the only one left”! It’s no surprise she was nice, because her Mom, Katie was also a great women. Aunt Marie always took special care of me when I was a baby, and as everyone knows, I was a spoiled, cry baby. Thank You Aunt Marie for spoiling me and please give my Mom a hug and a kiss for me. With love... Anthony & Lynn. Rest In Peace Aunt Marie!

Marie and I go back 86 yrs,  due to both of us having health issues and living in different states we have not seen each other in a while. I have my wonderful memories of our cruise together and two trips to Las Vegas with Nina And Fannie, we sure had fun . My favorite times were our once a month get togethers with so many laughs. My momma in action doing her favorite thing .. cooking .. a true Italian mom .. if you visited her house .. you could never leave without gaining at least 5 pounds .. always a gracious hostess. My mom was the most loving, kind, giving person to all who knew her.  She always put family above everything.  I am so grateful she had a wonderful life and and was blessed with the never ending loving care of my brother Coz.  The memories I shared with her will stay with me forever.   We celebrated every single holiday and birthday together with family traditions that go way back to when I was a child.  My Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Santa Claus at midnight on Christmas Eve, watching out the window at my Nonie's house singing jingle bells.  We even kept that going for the grandkids, all such happy memories.  She was always by my side to help me celebrate my greatest achievements,  and encourage me with her wisdom during my struggles.  I will never forget the overwhelming joy she expressed when she walked in my delivery room and met her grandchildren for the first time .. and the never ending help she gave me in caring for them.  I will treasure her guidance, support and family values forever.  She left us the night before her brother Frankie's birthday, who left us several years before.  I am certain she is with him and her mom now and at peace in heaven.  Mom, thank you for all you did for us, I love you and will miss you dearly.  Forever in my heart, LuLu
