Marie Kettly Elizee, 62, of Davie, FL. was granted her angel wings on August 30, 2020. She spent her last days at her home surrounded by her family.

Marie Kettly Elizee was born on November 11, 1957, in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. She was also known as “Keke”, “Kettly” or “Coucou” by her siblings, relatives, and friends. Marie Kettly met her husband, Marc Julio Elizee, at a sales job in Montreal, Canada. They later married on February 18, 1978. They have 3 children together: Tatiana, Samantha, and Naomi.

In 1989, Marie Kettly received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and specialized in Gerontology. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Royal Victoria in Montreal and also worked with special needs children. She was always determined to be successful to provide for her family; therefore, she later moved to Miami, Florida to live the American dream. She started at Golfcrest nursing home as a bedside nurse then supervisor and was quickly promoted to Director of Nursing. She worked all over South Florida for 25 plus years as a Director of Nursing. She continued her studies and received her Master’s of Science in Nursing Education and worked 7 years as a professor for LPN and RN students.

She enjoyed educating others, cooking, crocheting, and most of all she loved and cherished her family. She also loved listening to audio sermons and being in front and behind the camera. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She taught them resilience, strength, and forgiveness. Her positive spirit brightened up any room and she always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. She would give her opinion, but she never dismissed you for your choice. A great listener indeed. She characterized herself as a simple woman, but to her family, she was more than that. She was a superwoman that everyone entrusted. Marie Kettly will be remembered as a selfless, altruistic wife and mother who always had a smile, even when times were tough.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

Thankful for Kettly ‘s loving interactions and the love she encourage among her family. John 11: 21, 23,24 Martha then said to Jesus: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. Jesus said to her:” Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “ I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” Kettly is in God’s memory awaiting the resurrection ( John 5:28,29).What a joy it will be to welcome her back to life on earth.

From the garden of life a beautiful flower vanished from the hearth.
A beautiful human being, smart, kind and generous is no longer with us.
This interpel in each of us a feeling of deep lost. I knew Ketlie Franklin for many years, since she was a beautiful and intelligent young girl. She met Julio Elizee my nephew in Montreal Quebecc.
They felt in love and she married him on February 18, 1978 in which I was the
Best man of their wedding. It was an honor for me to be their Best Man. Ketlie was focused mind committed to improve herself and get a better education, better life for her family. She left Montrel to go to Drumondville far away to persue her Nursing Diploma.
Some years later She left Montreal to go to Florida where she settled with her family. Ketlie and Julio inspired us to move to Florida. Ketlie and Julio always welcome us with a tremendous
Kindness and warm gesture of hospitality. She always gave us the best of herself. I still remember with her tremolo voice( Lyly is everything ok?).
MEMORIES!!MEMORIES!!The last time we saw her it was when we went to Weston at her home to past the night before to go to the next morning to a cruise. Guest What? Early in the morning she wakes up to prepare us a queen breakfast before we left.
What a great send of generosity!!!Ketlie you will be missed for ever. Ton sourire, tes yeux comme des paillettes de diamant vont rested for ever in our memories.

Dear Family,

No words can be said to stop the pain from the loss of a truly loved one. I'm sorry that this loss occurred. Life can be very unpredictable. I hope that stay united especially in these times and stay strong. There's nothing worst than feeling alone. Aunty Kettly is one if the most loving person known to us all, an inspiration, and definitely a roll model. She may have lost the battle, but she won the war. Now she can rejoice spiritually and be free.

Aunty Kettly taught me to put my anger aside and to always think positively. She was a humble women. Never let people see her sweat. Family meant a lot to her. And went above and beyond to show it. One of my favorite memoires of her would definitely have to be her food. She cook up a kitchen flawlessly and always kept a smile on her face. She would always look forward to family gatherings.

Aunty Kettly, I love you! I miss you! And I hope one day to see you again. My mother cries for you every night. My grandma prays for you everyday. And my husband and I think of you all the time. You were the best aunty anyone could have asked for. No one could ever take your place and I hope wherever you are, you're the most at peace.

Your little niece,

Kettly was the kindest, most generous person I’ve ever known. She and Julio were the first to welcome me and Gesner when we moved to Florida in 2001. She was the consummate hostess, everyone who came to her house instantly felt welcomed by her warm smile, grace, and joie de vivre. Each of us has our own wonderful memories of her and by sharing our stories is a great way to celebrate the life of this incredible woman. Julio, Tatiana, Samantha, and Naomi - May her legacy of love surround you always and bring you peace. May her beautiful Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

The memory I share the most about Kettly is when she would visit us in Brooklyn, NY and spend the week with us.
I always remember her being so sweet, kind and so funny. She was also direct and shared how she felt about a matter. However, the caring way she would share her opinion was in a loving and humorous way, so it was easy to listen to her.
As I spoke with her during the last months of her life, she expressed such great faith and strength. This is no surprise about my dear cousin. I know she is resting now and waiting for the resurrection mentioned at John 5:28 & 29. Until then she surely will be missed.
