What does one say about that special someone who touched one's life in a most unique, impressive, and profound way from an early age. Gracefully poised, strikingly beautiful, and utterly glamorous. This was the ineffable Marie. 
   How fortunate was I to call her my cousin? Her humor and wit were paramount, as was her tenacious and staunch convictions. She was a perfectionist, both direct and principled in her comportment and pursuits--her character was also testimonial to her upbringing by her Mother, my beloved Aunt Jene. 
    Marie, an exceedingly private person, was unapologetically herself. She was resolute in her beliefs and tastes. Whether it be mere politics or her profound love for those dear to her, she never vacillated on anything. Her love: always deep, sincere and enduring. 
    Marie's noble character was matched with unrivaled style and sophistication. From my childhood, Marie was emblematic of all a woman could ever want to be. Whether one noticed her impeccably polished nails or coiffed hair, she epitomized elegance. Needless to say, her inimitable style and comportment left an indelible mark on me. Timeless and classic. 
   Dearest Marie, I will miss all of our humorous, reflective, and poignant correspondences, and mourn the words and thoughts that the passage of time has cut short. I will miss your first-arriving birthday cards – with all and everything in between. But most of all I will miss you dear cousin; your sweet melodic voice and simply, the essence of you… LOVED, LOVELY, and LOVING. 

Godspeed, until we meet again. My love goes with you. You are in my heart forever.
