

Marilou Virginia Lehner, born on January 23, 1951, in Port Jefferson, New York, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at her home in Boca Raton, Florida, surrounded by her loving family and under the compassionate care of hospice.
Marilou was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emerson M. Lehner III, and her cherished sister, Ruthan Shelly.
Marilou was an adored mother, mother-in-law, Nana, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving son, Robert F. Lehner; her beloved daughter-in-law, Heather Lehner, whom she loved as a daughter; her three cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Samantha, and Jillian, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her life; and her dear brother, Dean L'Hommedieu and his wife, Marian. She is also survived by her son, Marc E. Lehner.
Her life revolved around her unwavering faith, her devotion to family, and the friendships she treasured so deeply. She possessed a kind and compassionate spirit, always offering a listening ear, a comforting word, and a welcoming heart to those around her.
A devoted servant of the Lord, Marilou spent many years serving as the church secretary at Glades Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully supported her church family and touched countless lives through her kindness, dedication, and steadfast faith. Her faith guided her through life's joys and challenges and served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
She leaves behind her loving family and countless friends who will forever cherish her love, wisdom, strength, and generosity. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she shared so freely.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and sister and rests peacefully in God's eternal embrace.
A Celebration of Life honoring Marilou will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Babione Funeral Home, 10060 Calle Comercio Drive, Boca Raton, Florida 33428. Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A prayer service will be held from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM, followed by a light catered reception from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
Marilou will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Emerson, at South Florida National Cemetery, where they will be reunited in eternal peace.
