
Marion P. McManus died peacefully in her home in Boca Raton, Florida on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Born May 11, 1918 to Harold and Emma Moulton Fay, she enjoyed a long and productive life. She graduated from Classical High School in Springfield, MA at age 17 and moved to Hartford, CT to work as an au pair, while she additionally took business courses and worked in the insurance industry. After marrying Raymond Petersen, she raised her family, was an active member of the Bloomfield Congregational Church, and provided countless volunteer hours to a wide variety of church projects, as well as to the Girl Scouts first as a troop leader and subsequently managed the Hartford Regional Girl Scout Cookie Sale. She was a wonderful home cook, avid gardener and reader of a wide variety of books. After being widowed, she married Thomas McManus and moved to Florida. They traveled the United States and abroad extensively, and she was an active member of the Congregational Church of Boca Raton. She is survived by her daughters Lucinda P. Bingham and Janice P. Wilson, her son-in-law Gordon Bingham, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the Activity Room at Oak Bridge Terrace at St. Andrews Estates North at 3:30 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2015.
