Mary Ellen Bartlett

Mary Ellen Bartlett passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Pompano Beach, Florida. She was born on October 23, 1922 in Springfield, Missouri to Bert and Rosa Johnson. At the age of 19, Mrs. Bartlett accepted a government position as a legal secretary with a Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. She was married to William Harold Bartlett on November 4, 1942. Mrs. Bartlett spent many years of her life working as a secretary for the Fairfax County School Board in Virginia. She moved from Fairfax County, Virginia to Leesburg, Florida in 1990 and was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church in Leesburg. Mary Ellen was a loving and dedicated wife of 67 years until her husband's passing in 2010. Mrs. Bartlett is survived by two sons; William and Gregory, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, John Robert.
