

Mary Ann Carlucci was born September 7, 1952 to Joseph and Agnes Carlucci (nee Fashik) in Miami, Florida and spent her entire life in South Florida. Mary Ann, a special needs adult whose lifelong struggle with disabilities served as an inspiration to all who knew her, passed away on August 16, 2017 at Florida Medical Center. She lived with and enjoyed the wonderful care and love of her parents for 42 years until she suffered a stroke at the age of 42. For the last 22 years, she lived at St. John’s Nursing Center in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida under the guidance of Catholic Health Services who her parents were pleased to support. Diane Dube, the Executive Director of St. John’s for many years was an able and compassionate adviser to the Carlucci family. For nearly all of these many years, Mary Ann benefitted daily from the kind, gentle and loving care of two companions, Johnnie Mae and Savi. Many others gave good care to Mary Ann. All of her life, Mary Ann had a great appreciation of music and song and was very quick to see the humor and fun in all things. She also enjoyed the extraordinary home cooking of her parents. Being the first granddaughter of all four grandparents, she received much loving attention. Throughout her life, Mary Ann was a parishoner of the Melkite Catholic Church first St Jude Melkite Greek Catholic Church in Miami, FL and lastly St Nicholas Melkite Catholic Church in Delray Beach, FL. Mary Ann enjoyed travel with her parents by car, by boat and airplane and visiting friends and family across the US. Above all, Mary Ann was a devoted and loving daughter. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 18 from 6:00pm to 8pm at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 19 at 9:30am at St. Nicholas Melkite Catholic Church at 5715 Lake Ida Rd., Delray Beach, with interment to follow at 12:00 noon at Woodlawn Park Cemetery, 3260 SW 8th St, Miami. There will also be a visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 at St. Nicholas before the Service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Nicholas Melkite Catholic Church in her memory.Arrangements under the direction of Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home, Boca Raton, FL.
