

Neal Edward Simmons, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, went to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the age of 71. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie Sue Simmons and his three daughters and son, Miriam Nicole Smith (Greg Smith) of Lake Worth, Katherine Rachel Hews (Josh Hews) of Lake Worth, Amy Elizabeth Leitner of Boca Raton and Brian Neal Simmons (Lisa Simmons) of Boca Raton, Florida. He is also survived by a brother, Larry Simmons (Diane Simmons) of Pittsburg Pennsylvania. Grandchildren include Chase Leitner, Drew Leitner, Hailey Leitner, Blake Hews, Addison Simmons, Cole Hews, Natalie Simmons and Grant Hews. Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Betty Simmons of Arcadia, Florida.
Neal graduated from Charlotte County High School in Punta Gorda, Florida, in 1967. He attended college at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL, where he received his Bachelor’s in Accounting in 1971. His first job out of college was at Aquatic Sciences where he met his wife Bonnie Millerwise. Neal and Bonnie were married on Dec 18, 1971. He went on to get his CPA certification in 1973. Neal worked for a number of public accounting firms prior to starting his own practice, Financial Consulting Services, Inc. in 1985 were he practiced accounting and financial services for individuals and businesses through 2019. In October of 2019, he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a highly malignant brain tumor, which he battled with for nearly 17 months.
Neal’s priorities in life were his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, his family, his church family and his beloved client base. When he was not working his passions in life were to spend time with his wife, his children, his grandchildren and fishing. Neal was a beloved member of Seacrest Presbyterian Church in Delray Beach, Florida where he served as an elder and was active with the church’s school.
A celebration of life will be at Seacrest Presbyterian Church (2703 North Seacrest Blvd., Delray Beach, FL 33444) on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11 am with a reception following.
