Born in Bronx, New York on August 6, 1934 Mr. Carbone met the love of his life and beautiful wife Dolores “Dee” when he was just 17 years old. After getting married four years later, Pat and Dee started a family and began a whimsical romance of love, dedication and commitment that would last over 60 years.
While growing up in the shadows of Manhattan, Mr. Carbone had become a successful entrepreneur owning and managing many successful construction related businesses which were involved in major projects throughout Manhattan and the Tri-State area.
Mr. Carbone eventually settled into his passion of real estate development where he expressed his varied business talents in designing and building custom homes and estates in the suburbs of New York City. With Dee at his side, who had established her own successful real estate brokerage company, they were able to develop, market and sell his custom homes to the rich and famous who yearned to live in the suburbs of New York City. “Pat and Dee were an awesome team” his son Louis says, “not only did they have an incredible marriage but they were able to work harmoniously together by complementing each other’s talents”. “Whether it be his customers, employees or friends my Dad had a natural, friendly and genuine personality”, Louis says “you could not help liking him”.
After moving to Delray Beach in the early 80’s, Pat and Dee settled in Gleneagles Country Club. Not ready to retire, Pat started several successful businesses in South Florida and continued to develop and construct commercial and residential properties in the Delray Beach area.
While achieving success in business came easy to him, the most important aspect of his life was his family. His daughter Denise says, “He used to teach us at an early age to always take care of each other ….and by sticking together as a family we can help each other overcome any obstacle in life that we may face”. We realized early on what he meant by “family” his daughter Lynn says as “He was an incredible example and mentor to us in starting our own families”.
Mr. Carbone adapted well to the South Florida climate and enjoyed golfing, boating and taking cruises with his wife Dee to places all over the world. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to encourage them to be the best they can be.
Pat was the dear and devoted husband of his wife Dee, the cherished “Papa” to his grandchildren, Dana, Harrison and Francesca, the loving father of Denise, her husband Kim, Lynn and her husband, Mark and Louis and his wife, Kathryn and is survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 South Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL 33436.
